SEC Power Poll Week 5 Released

October 1, 2008

SEC Power Poll for Week 5 with comments is here. As you can see, the west secured the top two spots and Florida dropped back to 4. It’s kind of odd; switch Vandy and Auburn and it’s exactly the same order as my ballot.

Life on the Margins

October 1, 2008

Want to know just how many opportunities Florida blew against Ole Miss? Of course you did!

Let Dr. Saturday (formerly SMQ) dissect it for you. Beware though; if you’re in the “Fire Mullen now!!” crowd, you won’t like what you see. Turns out the offensive production wasn’t the problem after all. But you could have found that out already.

Doe Out for At Least Two Games

October 1, 2008

This is not good. Dustin Doe will be out at least two games because of surgery to fix a “double hernia.” I have no idea what that is, but I know that a single hernia can keep regular people out of office jobs for at least two weeks. It has to be pretty rough.

Making matters worse is that Ryan Stamper is also out with an ankle problem. Brandon Hicks is going to be filling in for now. He’s a great special teams guy, but I don’t know about starting linebacker yet.

As I’ve said before, Arkansas is not a good team at all this year. I don’t really care about the final score this weekend; just get out with a win and be healthy for LSU. Nothing else matters.
